Chicago Cubs- NOW and Hopefully Later

First things first, Thanks to Larry Stanley and BigBadSportsDaddy.com for believing in what I can bring to the table. Here is my first blog and I hope you enjoy.

This time of the year for Chicago Cubs fans has been becoming the best time of the year because the Cubs have been right in the thick of the NL Central race and the last two years they have been in the NL Central lead. Now things have drastically changed, and NOT for the good. Lets recap the season shall we; before the season started the Cubs were still in limbo in who their new owners were going to be, they then try to trade for Jake Peavy and can't get that done. Then the season starts, and here come all of the injuries. Carlos Zambrano, Ryan Dempster, Aramis Ramirez, Geovany Soto, and so on and so forth. Then you have the Cubs biggest star in Alfonso Soriano decide that this year he will suck so bad so that he wouldn't have to go 0 for 22 in the playoffs again like he did last year.

The Cubs have not been able to all year field the lineup that they envisioned coming out of spring training. Then a ray of hope shines down, in the month of July it seemed as the Cubs had finally solved the injury bug that had been plaguing their clubhouse. They finally had the right lineup in and everybody was healthy. That was until finding out that there resident moron Ryan Dempster broke his big toe when stupidly jumping over the fence that lines the dugout after a win at Wrigley Field. That put him out for over a month. And took out one of there best pitchers.

Ever since then they have not been able to make a huge run at the NL Central or the Wild Card. Now I don't know if I just got spoiled the last couple of years but I am so pissed that the Cubs are not playing to there potential. They have so many things going for them and they decided that getting swept again in a postseason was something that they didn't want there fans to go through again. And they were right about one thing, we won't have to go throught it this year.

But in the offseason, I hope the new owners will know whats good for the team and have this lineup when next year comes around:
C- Geovany Soto
1B- Derrek Lee
2B- Jake Fox
3B- Aramis Ramirez
SS- Ryan Theriot
RF- Micah Hoffpauir
CF- Kosuke Fukudome
LF- Sam Fuld
SP's- Ted Lilly, Rich Harden, Ryan Dempster, Randy Wells, and Carlos Zambrano
Coach- Bobby Valentine

Now I know what your saying, where is Alfonso Soriano??? I hope he is in some po-dunk little Independent League in Canada where he will rot away as a mediocre .250 hitter with very little power left and be injury prone the rest of his career.

So as a Cubs fan the rest of this year, I will prey to every god that there is that somehow, someway, the Cubs can squeek there way into the playoffs and somehow make a World Series run.

But I should always know better. WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR.
